'Daddy! Daddy!': Father Recalls Moment Daughter Called For Help After Finding Man In Bedroom

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A 16-year-old sleeping in her bedroom got the scare of her life when she awoke to find a man standing over her.

The girl's father said the guy snuck in through his daughter's window.

"He opened the window, then crawls where my daughter was asleep," the father said. "And then told me, 'Daddy! Daddy! Somebody is in there.' "

They were words this father will never forget.

"She called me," he said. "I went and catch the guy. I caught the guy but I called the police."

Police raced to the Fontana neighborhood and arrested the suspect they identified as 50-year-old Armando Contreras.

Investigators believe Contreras and the girl first met in the neighborhood as Contreras was staying at one of the neighbor's homes.

When he came home on Wednesday, police say he saw the open window and made his move.

"I'm surprised, shocked, everything," said Sandra Ledesma, who lives across the street from where the break-in happened.

She has young children of her own.

"We always lock the doors and everything but I mean, we never heard nothing before. I been living here 14 years already here. I've never heard nothing before," she said.

The girl's father says, though she is physically OK, she is dealing with the trauma of what happened.
