Contestant Who Appeared On 'Shark Tank' Accused Of Threatening Man With Gun
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A contestant who appeared on ABC's "Shark Tank" is accused of threatening a man with a firearm, authorities said Wednesday.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that Michael Philip Barzman, 38, of Burbank pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of assault with a firearm and criminal threats.
Barzman, whose idea was funded by one of the show's sharks, is scheduled back in court Aug. 25 in Department 1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Burbank.
The case was filed July 12.
Officials said that on July 2, Barzman allegedly threatened and pointed a gun at a man smoking outside a business near Barzman's apartment, the DA said.
If convicted on the two charges, Barzman faces a possible maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.
City News Service said Barzman and a partner won funding for their InvisiPlug surge protector and power strip, the plug comes in colors to match your hardwood floors and appear invisible.
