Often-Arrested Comic Katt Williams In Custody Following Alleged Physical Altercation With Woman

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) —   Often-arrested stand-up comedian Katt Williams is in police custody Sunday after an alleged physical altercation with a woman at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City.

The incident allegedly happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Los Angeles Police Officer Liliana Preciado said.

Police said an unidentified woman placed Williams under citizen's arrest. Officers later transported him to jail where he is being booked, Preciado said.

The details of the alleged altercation were under investigation.

Williams has been arrested multiple times  (at least eight) throughout the country for alleged assault, alleged thefts, accusations of child endangerment and burglary and weapons charges. He also faced charges related to having ridden a three-wheel motorcycle on a sidewalk in Sacramento.

In 2006, he was arrested after an allegedly stolen gun was found in his briefcase at Los Angeles International Airport. He pleaded no contest to a
misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed firearm.

Almost two years ago, Williams and rap producer Marion "Suge" Knight were arrested for allegedly stealing a camera from a photographer in Beverly Hills. They are awaiting separate trials in that case.
