Summer Heat Wave Continues To Scorch Southern California
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Temperatures of well over 100 degrees are expected Friday across the Southland.
According to the National Weather Service, an excessive heat warning for the valleys and mountains will remain in effect through Saturday evening.
Meteorologists warned of increased fire danger due to the combination of hot temperatures and dry conditions with gusty winds.
A red flag warning is also in force through midnight Saturday in the Los Angeles County Mountains, Angeles National Forest and Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued a heat alert for the Los Angeles Basin, the Pomona area and the valleys.
