Metro Exploring Gold Line Expansion Into Montebello

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — Metro is exploring the possibility of expanding the Gold Line into Montebello.

"Metro is studying two alternatives to extend the Gold Line from its current terminus at Pomona and Atlantic boulevards in East Los Angeles," according to Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo.

In planning the possible expansion, two Pomona (60) Freeway on-ramps will be closed overnight Tuesday and Wednesday in Montebello to accommodate soil studies.

The Vale Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound 60 will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday night to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Ubaldo said.

"Motorists will be rerouted to Potrero Grande Drive, Hill Drive and the San Gabriel Boulevard on-ramp at Town Center Drive," Ubaldo said.

On Wednesday night, the southbound Paramount Boulevard on-ramp to the westbound 60 will be closed at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Thursday and drivers will be detoured to Montebello Boulevard to access the San Gabriel Boulevard on-ramp.
