Stretch Of Westbound 210 Freeway In Pasadena Closed Through Weekend For Repairs

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A scheduled 55-hour closure of the westbound 210 Freeway began Friday to accommodate pavement repairs.

According to Caltrans, the westbound freeway was closed at 10 p.m. between Lake Avenue and Mountain Street.

The eastbound ramp from the 134 Freeway to the westbound 210 Freeway also was closed, along with the 210 Freeway off-ramps at Marengo Avenue and Mountain Street, and the Walnut Street on-ramp.

The closures are expected to last until 5 a.m. Monday and will be repeated the weekend of July 29-Aug. 1.

The freeways act as a major connector between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.

The closures are part of a $148.5 million pavement-rehabilitation project in Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge and Pasadena, according to Caltrans.

Officials expect the project to be completed in 2018.
