Police Seek Burglars Who Targeted 3 Restaurants In Placentia

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday searched for smash-and-grab burglars who targeted three restaurants in Placentia.

The first burglary call was reported after 1 a.m. at Los Gallos Mexican Restaurant, located in the 1600 block of East Orangethorpe Ave, according to the Placentia Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found several windows had been smashed in.

A preliminary investigation revealed the burglars stole a small amount of property and money from the restaurant.

Minutes later, police received a report of a restaurant burglary at Meat Up BBQ, located in the 1400 block of North Kramer Ave.

The windows were shattered, but no property was taken from the restaurant.

Detectives, however, said evidence showed the suspects were inside looking around.

About 15 minutes later, police were alerted about a third restaurant burglary in the 1500 block of North Placentia Ave.

Upon their arrival to Gina Maria's Pizzeria, authorities learned several windows were smashed in and a small amount of cash was stolen from the restaurant.

Police believe the same suspects struck at all three restaurants due to the time of the burglaries and the distance between each restaurant.

No suspect descriptions have been provided at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
