Reported US Navy Service Member Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder After Chase Through 2 Counties

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com/AP) — Police say a man suspected in the fatal stabbing of a woman in Riverside has been arrested following a pursuit on several freeways and surface streets in two counties.

Officers responding to reports of a domestic dispute Sunday found the woman unconscious with multiple stab wounds on a street in a Riverside neighborhood, according to The Press-Enterprise. She later died at a hospital.

When police in San Diego County tracked the suspect down early Monday, he led them on a chase on Interstate 15, onto State Route 91 and then onto surface streets in Riverside, where he was arrested.

Investigators later identified the suspect as 25-year-old Jared Bischoff of Riverside. He was identified in multiple reports as a U.S. Navy service member.

Bischoff was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
