Body Of Woman In Her 30s Found In West Hollywood Dumpster

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A woman's body has been discovered in a dumpster in West Hollywood, authorities said Wednesday.

The discovery was made in the parking lot of what previously was the famed Jerry's Deli on Beverly Boulevard across the street from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

It was there that a man making a delivery noticed something odd a short time before police arrived.

"It looked like someone was digging in there," said Ronnie Estars, witness.

Deputies found the body wrapped in some kind of material after someone tipped them off that a body was dumped in the area.

Although there is no positive identification on the victim, detectives say they have information she may have been homeless. She was believed to have been in her 30s at the time of her death.

"We have people who either are homeless or in some sort of transient conditions that use this place to sleep here at night," Sgt. Marcelo Quintero of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department.

Because of how the body was found, detectives could not see any obvious signs of trauma.

Another witness who works near where the body was discovered said he too saw something suspicious last night.

"We were throwing the trash late at night when we finished work. We saw a bunch of boxes not inside the dumpster and we saw like piles of bottles like on the side and we were like wondering,
'What's going on here,' " said the man, who asked not to be identified.

The cause of death is unclear, though it does not appear the body was in the dumpster for a long duration.

No arrests have been made at this point, but detectives have persons of interest.
