Former Fox News Host Gretchen Carlson Sues CEO Roger Ailes For Alleged Sexual Harassment

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Longtime Fox News host Gretchen Carlson has filed a sexual harassment complaint against CEO Roger Ailes.

The complaint filed with the Superior Court of New Jersey alleges Ailes "unlawfully retaliated against Carlson and sabotaged her career because she refused this sexual advances and complained about severe and pervasive sexual harassment".

The 50-year-old former Miss America also alleges Ailes rebuffed her attempts to discuss alleged "discriminatory treatment" in the workplace and told her "I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you'd be good and better and I'd be good and better".

According to the complaint, her employment with Fox News as terminated by Ailes on June 23.

Carlson announced on her Twitter page Wednesday that she was no longer with Fox News.

Best known as the co-host of the popular "Fox & Friends" morning show for nearly eight years, Carlson says she was reassigned after complaining about alleged misconduct by another one of her colleagues, Steve Doocy, while still working on the "Fox & Friends" show.

The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.

There was no immediate comment from Fox representatives.
