User Friendly Digital Signature Service Brings Unmatched Efficiency & Convenience To Clients

Huntley Wealth and Insurance Services, launched in 2004, is an independent insurance agency based in San Diego, California. They specialize in securing affordable life insurance for consumers with high-risk medical conditions. Founder and Owner Chris Huntley generates 1,000 leads each month through his Insurance Blog by Chris website, a site that receives more than 19,000 visitors per month.

At one point, much of the interest shown in Huntley's products was not converting into completed sales. "In my insurance agency's case," says Huntley, "our problem was that a sale, a commitment to buy, wasn't translating into signed and returned applications." Because most of his business is conducted remotely, online or by telephone, applicants could not immediately seal the deal with a signature. "We were emailing applications to people, so a prospective applicant would have to first print it out, second sign, third scan and email or fax it back to us." This process resulted in a return rate of only 62 percent. Huntley needed a way to simplify the process and recapture some of that 38 percent he was losing.

He found the solution with the digital signature platform, Docusign. With Docusign, users upload documents, add the names and email addresses of recipients and tag spots on the document to indicate where a signature is required. Recipients need only open the email and follow instructions to attach a legally binding electronic signature to the document.

Huntley says the process is user friendly. "We work with a lot of seniors, and even they seem to have no issue opening and signing the documents. The only complication we have had to face is that in the insurance industry, some of the more traditional carriers have been slower to adopt the e-signature application process, so we've had to continue to send paper applications to some clients."

Huntley Wealth and Insurance Services now completes all applications over the phone. Documents are then forwarded via Docusign to insurees. "Now all our clients have to do is open their application and click to sign," says Huntley, "Huntley Wealth now gets back 95 percent of all applications sent."
