'Selfie Dad' Becomes Famous By Mocking Daughter

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — What is a parent to do when your teenager does not do what she is told? You hit them where it hurts the most: embarrass them on social media. That's exactly what a father in Washington state did.

Chris Martin, 47, of Spokane said that when he told his 19-year-old daughter, Cassie, to stop posting sexy selfies on social media, she would not listen.

So he upped the ante and launched his prankster-style selfie war with his child to teach her a lesson.

The prankster pop took selfies, mimicking his daughter's poses and outfits down to almost every detail. Then he placed his look-alike selfies with hers side by side and posted them on Instagram.

But it's unclear if his strategy worked. Cassie turned around and shared those father-daughter selfies on Facebook.

The photos went viral. Martin now calls himself "Selfie Dad."

"It's been pretty funny," Martin told Us Weekly magazine about other parents' reactions. "A few have called me a jerk, but I don't think they get it. We've kind of always made fun of each other in our family."

And no child of his is safe. Martin, whose nickname is Burr, apparently mocks his son, too.
