Late Tejano Singer Selena Among 2017 Hollywood Walk Of Fame Honorees

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A diverse class of entertainers and celebrities will be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

"The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world," said Vin Di Bona, chair of the Walk of Fame selection committee for 2016-17, said in a statement.

The class includes the late Tejano music star Selena Quintanilla, who was shot to death in 1995 by the president of her fan club. Mostly known to Mexican fans of Tejano music, Quintanilla was just 23 years old at the time of her murder, stunning her fans and the music industry.

Longtime actress Goldie Hawn, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck and Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor Gustavo Dudamel will also be honored next year.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2017 are:

For motion pictures: Amy Adams, Jason Bateman, Hawn, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Pratt, Brett Ratner, Ryan Reynolds, George A. Romero, Mark Ruffalo and Rita Wilson

For television: Tyra Banks, Andre Braugher, Ken Corday, Lee Daniels, Hugh Laurie, Eva Longoria, Puck, Keri Russell, Haim Saban, George Segal, Sarah Silverman and Jeffrey Tambor

For recording: Clarence Avant, Jerry Goldsmith (posthumous), Hall & Oates, Ice Cube, John Legend, *NSYNC, New Edition and Quintanilla (posthumous)

For radio: Elvis Duran

For live theatre/live performance: Criss Angel, Jeff Dunham and Dudamel
