2 Killed, 2 Injured In Separate Overnight Shootings In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday investigated the circumstances surrounding two separate shooting incidents in Compton.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the first shooting took place just after 11 p.m. Sunday in the area of East Laurel Street and South Rose Avenue.

An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Paramedics transported two other men to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. An update on their conditions was not immediately available.

The second shooting unfolded just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of West 152nd Street.

It remains unclear if the shootings are related.

The investigation is ongoing.
