Caught On Video: 2 Men Fraudulently Purchase Gift Cards At Target In OC

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Monday to identify two men who fraudulently used stolen credit cards to purchase thousands of dollars worth of gift cards in Orange County.

According to the Irvine Police Department, the suspects entered a Target store around 10:40 a.m. on June 1, located on Barranca Parkway, and purchased four gift cards that were each valued at $500.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects used stolen credit cards to pay for the gift cards, which were stolen from two victims in separate incidents.

The men exited the store separately, met in the parking lot and left in a black, four-door early 2000s Acura, possibly a CL model.

According to police, the vehicle possibly has five-spoke alloy rims, dark tinted windows with chrome molding and no front license plate.

Detectives described one suspect as an African American man who is in his 20s, stands 6-feet tall, weighs 175 pounds and has facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hat, a gray shirt that has blue "Nike" writing, dark shorts with white text on the left leg and white shoes with blue laces.

The second suspect is a man who has a light complexion, brown hair and facial hair. He is believed to be in his mid 20s, stands 5-foot-10 tall and weighs 170 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing sunglasses with large black frames, gray pants, a black shirt, chain necklaces and red shoes that have white soles.

The investigation is ongoing.
