Telemundo Reporter Assaulted By Woman On Live TV

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Video footage of a Telemundo reporter being punched in the face during a live broadcast has gone viral on social media.

Iris Delgado was just wrapping up a report outside City Hall in Philadelphia on Thursday night when a woman approached her.

Footage of the attack shows the woman tapping Delgado's right arm, saying, "Excuse me, excuse me." She then bashes Delgado in the head and slaps her face.

The camera quickly cut back to the studio, where anchor Ramon Zayas can be heard saying "Ay, dios mio!"

Delgado had just completed reporting on a new citywide soda tax when the attack occurred.

The Philadelphia district attorney's office says Waheedah Wilson has been charged over the assault.

Online court documents show she's been charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. No lawyer information is listed.

Messages seeking comment from Telemundo and NBCUniversal by the Associated Press weren't immediately returned Friday.
