Woman Struck In Head With Metal Object In Altercation With Another Woman In Ventura, Police Say

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a woman was recovering Sunday after being struck in the head with a metal bicycle tire pump and another woman has been arrested in connection with the assault.

Officers responded to Garden Street and Fix Way late Saturday night to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When they arrived, they found the victim, who was suffering from a large cut to her head after being struck in the head with a metal bicycle tire pump.

Officers learned that the victim and the suspect, also a female, had been involved in an argument that escalated.

The victim was treated at the scene initially but was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Though the suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived, police conducted a search of the area and were able to arrest her early Sunday.

The suspect identified by police as Linda Brown, 48, of Ventura has since been booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
