Dramatic Video Captures Vehicle Witnesses Say Was Driving Recklessly In Victorville

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — Dramatic cellphone video captured a car speeding by other drivers in the center lane and even coming close to hitting cars as oncoming traffic passes by.

But the man who recorded the clip and asked not to be identified says it's not the first time.

As he explains, he was driving to work around 7 a.m. when he noticed an agitated driver.

He says at work other colleagues had described the same type of car with a female driving recklessly.

"I was trying to stay out of her way and not let her hit me or anything. My concern was for my safety and honestly for those around me because she was pretty reckless," he said.

That's why he says when he saw the car again he recorded it.

"She would cut them off around the same corner, doing the same thing, flying into oncoming traffic just not even caring about who is around or who she might hit," he said.

The incident happened along Bear Valley Road where witnesses allege that the driver was traveling at least 65 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.

CBS2 matched the license plate number seen in the video to a Victorville home where the news station located a car with the same plates parked in the driveway.

A woman wouldn't open the door but told CBS2 she was aware the video was out there and said someone -- a man -- took the car without permission.

"He's gone," she said. "He's out of state now."

The driver who recorded the video says he didn't report it to police but is happy no one was hurt.
