New Bridge Makes Orange Line Station More Accessible To Canoga Park Pedestrians

CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — It just got easier for a lot of people in Canoga Park to catch the Metro.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the new pedestrian entrance at the Canoga Metro Orange Line station.

Now, about 2,000 people who live at several apartment complexes nearby have easy access to the station. Before the bridge's construction, it was a mile-and-a-half walk to get to the station.

"They had to take this long circuitous long route, you know, through the front of these buildings and around everything else," Los Angeles City Councilman Bob Blumenfield said.

The Canoga Metro station is also close to several businesses at the Warner Center. Metro officials are hoping more workers will now take Metro instead of driving.
