Laird, who was drafted in the 27th round during the 2007 amateur draft by the New York Yankees, now plays professional baseball in Japan for the Nippon Ham Fighters.

On top of winning free beer for a year as a result of hitting the brewery's sign out in left field, he also was given $10,000 in cash.

Despite only playing in 53 career games in the MLB over a three-year span with the Yankees and Houston Astros, Laird seems to be making the best of his situation in Japan, finishing last season with 34 home runs and a .789 OPS.

He hit just six long balls with a .626 OPS while playing in his three seasons in the MLB.
