Tickets For 'The Desert Trip' Music Festivals Sold Out

INDIO (CBSLA.com) — Tickets were sold out after going on sale Monday for a couple of three-night music festivals in Indio that will feature six legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

The Desert Trip festivals will take place at the Empire Polo Field on two different weekends - October 7-9 and October 14-16.

With so much interest, promoters added a second weekend Monday.

The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan will kick off the festival, followed by Paul McCartney and Neil Young + Promise of the Real. Roger Waters and The Who will close out the weekend.

The sales process became frustrating for some people trying to obtain tickets, with many complaining on social media about being shut out from affordable passes as third-party ticket sellers scooped them up.

Passes are already being peddled on ticket resale sites that offer three-day passes beginning at around $1,700 each. One website showed eight top tickets in front of the stage going for $14,300 each.

There will be no opening acts.

Ticket prices are as follows:

— Three Day Passes: general admission $399; reserved floor $699, $999, $1,599; reserved grandstand $999, $1,599; standing pit $1,599.

Single Day Passes: general admission $199

The producers of the Coachella Music & Arts Festival and the country music festival Stagecoach, Goldenvoice and AEG Live, are hosting the event.
