Street Artist Says He's Installed Anti-Trump Parking Signs In LA, Other Cities

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles street artist known for thought-provoking displays says he's unveiled his latest installation: "No Trump Anywhere" parking signs.

The signs were installed Monday morning in L.A., Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., and Miami, the artist known as Plastic Jesus told CBS Los Angeles.

In L.A., he said they were placed in four locations, including in downtown on Wilshire Boulevard and Hollywood.

Plastic Jesus says he's been a street artist for 7 ½ years and addresses political and cultural issues in his work.

"For me, to consider the effect that Donald Trump could have on the nation as a whole could be pretty devastating," he said.

That's why, he says, the signs were placed in other cities as well.

Plastic Jesus doesn't expect the signs will remain up beyond Monday evening.

The reported installation wasn't the first time his work has involved parking signs.

In fact, last April he says he installed "No Kardashian Parking Anytime" signs in LA.

In so doing, he said his motivation wasn't a personal blow to the Kardashians. Rather, "more of a blow to the media" that "have become obsessed with the Kardashians."

"The Kardashians go shopping, it becomes a media event," he said.

Prior to becoming a street artist, Plastic Jesus was a photojournalist.
