Help Needed To Identify Elderly Man Found On Bus In Arcadia

ARCADIA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities asked for the public's help Thursday in identifying a man believed to be in his 80s who was found on an MTA bus with no identification and then taken to a hospital in Arcadia.

The man was found on the bus Friday. Arcadia police were called to the hospital about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff's Deputy Trina Schrader said.

The man told officers his name was possibly Jose Rivera and his birthdate may be Nov. 12, 1934, according to Schrader. Officers also determined the man could be from Lincoln Heights or Pomona, but none of that information has been verified.

No missing persons reports have been found that match the man's description.

The man is described as Hispanic, estimated to be 81 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 115 pounds. He also has white hair, brown eyes, a thin build and mostly speaks Spanish. He also has a distinct scar on his right shin, a small scar on his left thumb, and a mole on the top right side of his head.

Anyone with information that might help identify this man can call the sheriff's missing persons unit Sgt. Nunez at (323) 890-5500.
