Dodgers Score 5 In Seventh, Beat DBacks 5-2

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kike Hernandez hit a two-run double during a five-run seventh inning to back another solid outing from Dodgers rookie Ross Stripling, and Los Angeles beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 on Thursday night.

Stripling allowed two runs on five hits but trailed 2-0 when he exited after six innings.

Arizona starter Robbie Ray was charged with the first two runs in the seventh. Randall Delgado (0-1) allowed an RBI single to Justin Turner and then Hernandez's drive to the wall in left-center. Andrew Chafin then gave up RBI singles to Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez.

Ray allowed the two runs on four hits and five walks over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out six.

J.P. Howell (1-0) got the victory with a perfect inning of relief.

Stripling tossed 7 1/3 hitless innings against the Giants in his major league debut last week. He struck out five and walked one on Thursday.
