Seals As Far As Eye Can See Captured On Video Near Cape Cod

18 Trillion Seals (rough estimate) this afternoon along Monomoy, south of Chatham MA. Miles and miles of continuous blubber. It's getting out of control. Time to let the local teens go out clubbing on the weekends again, old school! ;-) -- (PS - sarcasm throughout... Relax!)

CAPE COD (CBSLA.com) — Seals have apparently been lining up for miles on Monomoy Island near Cape Cod.

And footage of it along the Atlantic coast in Massachusetts has garnered lots of attention on social media.

"18 trillion seals (rough estimate) this afternoon along Monomoy, south of Chatham MA," said Aaron Knight, who captured video on April 10.

"I couldn't believe it," said Knight. "It was just miles and miles of insanity."

Knight posted the footage on Facebook, where it has since been viewed 252,752 times.

Experts at the Center for Coastal Studies say the seals are lining up because great white sharks have been seen lurking in the water and seals are their favorite snack.
