Naked Burglary Suspect Police Found Sleeping In Home Accused Of Taking Ice Cream

REDLANDS (CBSLA.com) — For the first time in 38 years of living in a Redlands home, a 77-year-old woman says she is a little afraid.

The homeowner, identified as Bonnie, says she had fallen asleep on the couch when a loud sound jolted her awake Tuesday morning.

"The minute I saw that door shut, I got out of there," said Bonnie, who explains that she snuck out of her home and called 911.

"And by that time I was shaking all over," she said. "I can't imagine somebody breaking into your home."

Police say they found the burglary suspect naked and sleeping in a bedroom. He has since been identified by authorities as 32-year-old Caulin Ross, a transient.

"I had never seen him before," she said. "He went into the kitchen, into the freezer, and took my ice cream."

Bonnie says the suspect was acting weird during the arrest.

"He didn't act like he was drunk," she said. "He was on something."

Bonnie has since ordered a security system for her home.
