Monterey Park Police Release Mugshot Of Husband Accused Of Stabbing, Slashing Wife 25 Times

MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) – Police in Monterey Park on Friday released the mugshot of a man they accuse of stabbing and slashing his wife at least 25 times Thursday evening while she showered in their home.

Around 8:20 p.m. Thursday a domestic violence incident occurred in the 1200 block of West Newmark Avenue in the City of Monterey Park, officials said.

Police responded to the area after receiving a 911 call of an injured, wet and bloody female in the street near the location. Officers located the 56-year-old victim and paramedics were summoned to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for multiple, non-life threatening puncture,  stab and slash wounds.

Officials told KCAL9's Serene Branson Thursday the victim spoke no English and had only been in the U.S. for a couple of days.

Officers followed a blood trail to a residence where they located the suspect. They identified him as Kam Hing Wong, 63.

Wong was taken into custody without incident.

The case is currently under investigation by the Monterey Park Police Department.

Wong is being held without bail at the Monterey Park Police Department Jail on attempted murder and domestic violence charges.
