Uber To Offer Helicopter Rides To Coachella For About $4,000

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - Uber is offering a special transportation method called "UberCHOPPER" allowing users to take a helicopter to this year's Coachella music festival.

Blade, which has been known as the "Uber for helicopters", has partnered with the famous transportation service to offer the special travel method.

The flight can be purchased through either Uber or Blade, and will cost $4,170 for a one-way flight from the Van Nuys Airport to the festival grounds at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.

Once a flight is booked, Uber will pick up the passengers in the L.A. area and drop them off at the airport for their flight, as well as also drive them to Coachella once they land.

Each helicopter can hold up to six people, which, if the users decide to split the fare, would cost each person $695.

Uber will also be offering an SUV back to L.A. for $399 for those who reserve a chopper.

Users can begin to reserve choppers starting at noon Friday.
