1 Killed In Fiery Crash At Sewage Treatment Plant In Playa Del Rey

PLAYA DEL REY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday investigated the circumstances surrounding a deadly crash that took place in Playa del Rey.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, crews were sent around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 7600 block of West Imperial Highway for report of a traffic collision.

Upon their arrival to the Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant, firefighters located a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
