'Cold Hands Bandit', Accomplice Suspected Of Robbing 15 Banks

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — County authorities and the FBI are getting the word about the so-called "Cold Hands Bandit" and his accomplice -- a pair of robbers suspected of hitting at least 15 banks in four months.

Sheriff's officials Wednesday said that a November heist in Rosemead has been linked to the duo. Investigators say the men passed a note to a teller that vowed violence if their demands weren't met.

Detectives said the Cold Hands Bandit and his accomplice are both African American men who are believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30.

The Cold Hands Bandit got his nickname because he often wears gloves. He stands no taller than 5-foot-8 tall and has a thin build.

The second suspect stands no taller than six feet and weighs around 200 pounds.

Both men have been seen driving off in a newer model silver Dodge Charger.

They are also suspected in a November robbery in Cerritos and several others across L.A. County in December, February and March.

Bank of the West is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the men's capture and conviction.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of these suspects has been urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Information Bureau at (213) 229-1700 or the Major Crimes Bureau at (562) 946-7893.
