At 11 a.m., customers lined up to grab a bite to eat at the New York-based chain, located on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and West Knoll Drive.

CBS2's Adrianna Weingold reported the line of customers wrapped around the building.

"This whole thing was an accident," CEO Randy Garutti said. "Shake Shack was born as a hot dog cart to raise money for a public park from Danny Meyers fine dining company in New York. We never dreamed there would be a second one, let alone being here in West Hollywood."

Customers can sink their teeth into burgers, hot dogs, crinkle cut fries, frozen custard and milkshakes. The restaurant even offers dog friendly treats.

Better yet, Los Angeles diners have access to enjoy an exclusive menu item, the rainbow connection concrete, which has donuts and jam. Five percent of sales from this menu item will be donated to the LGBT community.

Shake Shack, which was established in 2004, has plans to open additional locations in downtown Los Angeles and Glendale.
