Suspect In Perris Deputy-Involved Shooting At Large

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — One suspect was taken into custody, but at least one more was still at large following a deputy-involved shooting in Perris.

Sheriff's deputies were sent just before 11 a.m. to a business near the intersection of West Orange Avenue and North Perris Boulevard, Deputy Mike Vasquz said. That's where deputies shot at the suspects, resulting in one being taken into custody and at least another escaping.

It was not immediately clear whether any of the suspects were injured by the gunfire.

Deputies, along with a sheriff's department helicopter crew, are searching the area for outstanding suspects, Vasquez said.

No deputies were injured.
