Stephan's Folly was built in 1965 and designed by Robert Lewis, and later purchased TV's most ubiquitous plumber Jack Stephan, who installed the current interior in 1971. The 3,250-square-foot home features three bedrooms, five bathrooms, and miles of red and orange velvet on the walls, carpets, ceilings and windows.

The home, which is being offered for sale for $899,000, received the Palm Springs Modern Committee's Residential Preservation Award. Besides the luxuriously velvet interior, it offers a kidney-shaped pool, a sunken living room, a curved sunken wet bar, a den, a pool cabana, a butler's pantry and an oversized garage.
