2 Tree Trimmers Killed When Crane Hits Power Lines In Thermal

THERMAL (AP) — Riverside County authorities say two tree trimmers were killed when the crane they were using to cut palm fronds touched active power lines, sparking a fire.

County Fire says leaking oil from the crane's engine caught fire and the entire crane became engulfed in flames Saturday in Thermal.

The two victims, who were not immediately identified, died at the scene.
