Friday's Storm Blamed For Power Outage In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Powerful winds from Friday's storm toppled 12 utility poles, knocking out power to thousands of customers in Riverside.

According to Riverside Public Utilities, as many as 10,000 customers were without electricity in the late afternoon. By 11 p.m., that number was reduced to 150.

The agency said crews will work through the night to restore power to every one.

It is urging people to stay away from downed power lines and not drive around them or near them. If you see a power line down, call 911 immediately.
