Truck Driven Onto Lawn Of Santa Monica Courthouse; Driver Arrested
SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — A motorist was taken into custody Tuesday after driving a pickup truck onto the lawn of the Santa Monica courthouse.
The unidentified driver surrendered shortly before 9 a.m., following a brief standoff outside the building in the 1700 block of Main Street, according to Santa Monica police.
The motorist may have been despondent about something, police said.
Several social media reports indicated the man may have been a disgruntled employee or husband of a courthouse employee, but there was no immediate confirmation from officials.
No injuries were reported.
