2 Men Killed In Fiery Crash In Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Two young men were killed Friday in a fiery high-impact traffic collision in Huntington Beach.
According to the Huntington Beach Fire Department, crews were sent around 1:45 a.m. to the intersection of Warner Avenue and Edwards Street.
Upon their arrival, authorities located two men lying in the roadway. The victims may have been pulled out from the car by bystanders in the area.
Paramedics pronounced the victims dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending family notification.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victims traveled in a vehicle that crashed into a building located on the corner of the intersection.
The impact of the crash subsequently caused the car to erupt in flames, which then spread to the apartment building.
Firefighters said residents living in two apartments were displaced due to smoke damage.
Huntington Beach Police believe speed may have contributed to the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
