The box, delivered from the Netherlands, contained 1,140 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills and 90 Xanax pills with an estimated street value of $23,250, said Misenheimer.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security alerted police that a package containing the drugs had been sent from an address in Holland and was bound for a residence on Iowa Avenue, the sergeant said.

Jeong is being held on $150,000 bail at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. The Tujunga man faces charges of possessing a controlled substance for sale. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.

UC Riverside spokesman James Grant Jr. released this statement: “UC Riverside officials are aware of the arrest of an individual possessing illegal drugs in a location near campus. The individual has no known ties to the UC Riverside campus.”
