High Surf Advisory Issued For LA County

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Dangerous waves, rip currents and possible minor coastal flooding will hammer the coast, meteorologists said Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, a high surf advisory will remain in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Los Angeles County.

Big swells reaching between eight and 10 feet are expected with maximum sets of 12 feet.

Stronger surf will hammer the coast north of Los Angeles County.

Anyone who becomes caught in a rip current has been advised to swim parallel to shore until able to break free.

Forecasters said temperatures will remain abnormally high today under sunny skies.
