Coronageddon Will Come To An End Ahead Of Schedule
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Drivers are rolling up to the finish line of the dreaded Coronageddon, but most say it wasnt the end of the world, like some had expected.
"It's actually been pretty easy," Lindsay Sarpy said.
"It was OK, I think everybody planned it out, like their weekend," Diana Gonzalez added.
The 91 was completely empty on Sunday, except for the crews working quickly to wrap up construction on the Maple Street Bridge over the freeway.
We're told they're now ahead of schedule -- meaning the six mile strech between the 15 and 71 should be open by 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning, 55 hours after it was completely shut down on Friday night.
While there has been some congestion in and around the area, Coronageddon should soon be in the rear view mirror.
