2 Killed In Inglewood Officer-Involved Shooting

INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Officers on Sunday morning shot and killed two people in Inglewood after observing that a woman in a stopped car had a gun.

The gunfire was at 3:11 a.m. on Manchester Boulevard at Inglewood Avenue, said Inglewood police Lt. Scott Collins.

Officers were sent there on a call that a vehicle had stopped in a traffic lane, Collins said, and saw that a woman had a gun. The officers took cover and ordered the people to get out of the vehicle.

"An officer-involved shooting then occurred," he said. "Both occupants were struck by gunfire and the female occupant possessing the firearm was pronounced dead at the scene."

Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he died, Collins said. A gun was recovered at the scene of the shooting and no officers were injured.

Inglewood police asked anyone with any information regarding the shooting to call them at (310) 412-5246.
