Heat, Winds Bring Fire Danger To Southern California
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Gusty Santa Ana winds and low humidity levels are bringing fire danger to parts of Southern California as unseasonably warm temperatures blanket the region.
The National Weather Service has issued red flag watches and warnings Sunday for mountain and valley areas, where gusts of 70 mph are possible.
The winds are being kicked up by a strengthening high pressure system that could produce record-breaking heat. Temperatures Sunday are in the high 70s and forecasters say 80s are possible Monday and Tuesday.
