18-Year-Old H.S. Student Arrested In Victorville After Allegedly Posting 'Massacre' Threats On Facebook

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities in Victorville have announced the arrest of an 18-year-old they said made criminal threats against classmates on his Facebook page.

On Friday, around 11:52 p.m., Victorville Police responded to a threat of a "highdesertmassacre"posted by a Silverado High School student.

The threat was posted on Facebook allegedly by Andrew Hernandez.

Officials said Hernandez posted several entries on his Facebook page which caused numerous classmates to become concerned for their safety.

Silverado High School officials were contacted and cancelled Saturday classes as a precaution.

The Victorville Police, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and Silverado High School officials take all threats to the safety of the public and the schools as a serious matter. Victorville Police wrote the "threats will be fully investigated."

Hernandez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center and is awaiting the filing of charges by the DA's office.
