Police Search For Attempted Murder Suspect In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Thursday to locate a 31-year-old man who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder case in Long Beach.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Mario Aguilar Jr., of La Puente, is accused of stabbing the mother of his children last year.

Around 6 p.m. on Oct. 18, 2015, officers were sent to a home located in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway for report of an assault with a weapon.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics transported the victim in critical condition to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Domestic violence detectives investigated the case and identified Aguilar Jr., as the father of the victim's children.

On Nov. 4, 2015, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office filed charges of attempted murder and child abuse against Aguilar Jr.

An arrest warrant for more than $2.3 million was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Detectives described Aguilar Jr. as a Hispanic man who is bald, has brown eyes, stands 5-foot-8 tall and weighs 240 pounds.

Police said he has violated the conditions of his parole and remains at large. Anyone who may encounter Aguilar Jr. should consider him to be armed and dangerous.
