Camarillo Widow Pleads For Her Husband's Stolen Ashes To Be Returned

CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — A Camarillo woman, who lost her husband of 20 years to a heart attack, has lost him again to thieves. They stole his ashes along with the family dog's ahses out of an SUV.

"I went hysterical. I was in shock. I was like they've taken him away a second time. I lost him a second time. It was just unreal," Julie Logan said.

Both urns were stolen from an SUV Logan's relatives were packing up after the memorial service on Jan. 22. The vehicle was parked outside of the Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center at the Buenaventura Golf Course in Ventura.

Ralph Logan died in his sleep a couple weeks ago. His ashes were resting in a pewter urn that was inside a dark green velvet bag. Their dog Tassy's ashes were also in an urn inside a Navy blue bag.

Police said the thieves also took a laptop, an iPad and two cameras. "I don't want any of it back. I just want Ralph and Tassy. That's all I want," Logan insisted.

The former nurse said what happened has been a nightmare. But if the urns are returned, there will be no questions asked.

"I don't want to punish anybody. I just want them back," she said. Logan said someday she wants her husband's ashes to be spread along a mountain top in her home state of Alabama, along with her own.

"He said Julie, I want to go wherever you go. You take me with you like you're going to take Tassy. And wherever you go, I want to go," Logan said.

The widow said all she wants is for someone to return the urns so her family can be complete. "It's like taking their body. They took my husband away from me and my little dog!"
