Santa Ana Man Arrested In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash; Sister, Sister-In-Law Accused As Accessories

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A man, his sister and his sister-in-law have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Santa Ana.

Police say a man was struck by a car as he walked across Fairview Street at Dahl Lane at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and vehicle fled the scene.

The investigation led to the arrest of the suspected driver, Ramiro Garcia Jr., who was booked on charges of felony hit-and-run, a suspended license and a probation violation, Santa Ana police said.

Officials say detectives also arrested his sister, 30-year-old Rosa Garcia, and his sister-in-law, 29-year-old Janette Cuevas, on charges of accessory to a felony and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The name of the man who was killed has not yet been released.
