Capital Murder Charges Filed In Downey Home-Invasion Robbery, Murder Of Real Estate Agent

DOWNEY (CBS/AP) — Capital murder charges have been filed against two men in connection with a home-invasion robbery in the city of Downey.

Henry Willie Sao, 27, of Long Beach; Paul Darvis Misikei, 18, of Anaheim; and Sakaopo Atanasio Folau, 17, of Anaheim were each charged with one count each of murder, robbery and burglary, with special allegations, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sao and Misikei were arrested Sunday morning after being chased by responding officers. When the officers went into the house they found the body of Jim Rudometkin, a long-time real estate agent in the Los Angeles area.

Folau, who is being charged as an adult, was arrested Tuesday. All three are scheduled Wednesday to make their first court appearance, where prosecutors say they will ask they be held without bail.

The 59-year-old real estate agent died of blunt trauma and heart disease, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. District Attorney's officials say Rudometkin was found bound and unresponsive.

Investigators believe Rudometkin was specifically targeted by the suspects, but did not elaborate.

If convicted Misikei and Sao could face the death penalty if prosecutors decide later to seek it. Folau, because of his age, faces up to life in state prison if convicted as charged, prosecutors said.
