Irvine Man's Death On Bike Path Investigated As Homicide

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Detectives searched Wednesday for whoever killed a 51-year-old man on a bike path in Irvine.

The body of Sidney Siemensma, of Irvine, was found shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, west of Irvine Center Drive, along the southbound 405 Freeway, near the Los Olivos community.

Witnesses described the scene where Siemensma's body was found as bloody. As of early Wednesday morning, police had not disclosed his cause of death.

Irvine police have said the death was being investigated as homicide.
