Covina Police Ask For Public's Help In Finding 10-Year-Old Boy Believed To Be Abducted By Father

COVINA (CBSLA.com) — The Covina Police Department on Saturday was asking for the public's help in finding a 10-year-old boy they say was abducted by his biological father on Friday during a court ordered and unmonitored visit.

The suspect and the victim were last seen Friday at about 3:30 p.m., in the Von's Shopping Center located at 932 E. Badillo in the City of Covina.

The suspect is possibly driving a 2006 gray Toyota Tundra. The license plate on the vehicle is not known at this time.

The victim is 10-year-old Michael Stevens, described as a white male, 5-1, 133 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, blue striped shirt over a white t-shirt, gray zippered sweatshirt with a hood and white/blue Nike shoes.

The suspect is Michael Joseph Stevens, 49 years old, 5-9, 180 lbs., with black receding hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, blue/white button down shirt over a white t-shirt and a dark colored baseball hat.

The suspect has also been known to drive a blue 1997 Mercedes with California license plates #6TRE078 or an unknown color 1997 Saab 900 with Nevada license plates: #982WDC.

The suspect's last known address is in San Bernardino and the victim's biological mother resides in Nevada.
