Former 'Power Rangers' Actor Charged In Killing Of His Roommate

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 36-year-old male actor who is best known for his role in the "Power Rangers" series has been charged in the killing of his roommate, officials said Thursday.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Ricardo Medina was arrested on a felony complaint Thursday morning. He has been charged with one count of murder for fatally stabbing Josh Sutter at their home in Green Valley.

Medina is accused of stabbing Sutter multiple times with a sword during an argument over his girlfriend on Jan. 31, 2015, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The actor was first arrested in February 2015 and was held in lieu of $1 million bail. However, the district attorney's office rejected the case pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, Medina will be arraigned at the Antelope Valley Branch of the L.A. County Superior Court. Prosecutors are expected to request for his bail to be set at $1 million.

If convicted as charged, Medina faces 26 years to life in state prison.
